RTC Recap 4/1/2008

Only four wrestlers made the trip to Pendleton this week for the RTC. High Schoolers Sparky Inman and Tyler Smith went along with Middle Schoolers Drake Gunning and Max Juarez. Clinician was Eric Kreible. We look forward to returning to Perry Meridian in the week after springbreak.

RTC Recap 3/18/2008

5 Westfield wrestlers traveled to Perry Meridian last night for another RTC. The clinician was Jay Yates, head coach at the University of Indianapolis. The five that went got a fantastic workout and had some great competition. Those in attendance were Austin Robinson, Brock Robinson, John Floor, Robert Melby, and Tyler Smith. Check back for updates as we may make this our regular RTC rather than traveling to Peru on Thursdays.

RTC Tomorrow!

Our next RTC trip is tomorrow 3/18/2008. We will be going to Perry Meridian where University of Indianapolis coach Jay Yates will be the clinician. Please be at WHS by 4:30.

Westfield Wrestling @ISWA Folkstyle State

Several Westfield Wrestlers attended the ISWA Folkstyle State Meet in Huntington this past weekend. Wrestlers who competed were Sparky Inman, Parker Bankert, AJ Belden, Michael Raby, Tyler Melby, Brady White, Robert Melby, Austin Robinson, and Brock Robinson (I apologize if I left someone one).

Westfield Wrestling brought home two medals! AJ Belden placed 2nd at 70 lbs. Schoolboy and Robert Melby placed 4th at Junior 189 lbs. Congratulations to both wrestlers!!

RTC Recap-3/6/08

Several members of the WHS Wrestling team traveled to Peru High School on March 6th, for a regional training center workout. The clinician was Jason Brown, assistant coach at Peru. The nine that traveled up north had a great workout and got some pointers on some tilts and front headlock finishes to add to their technique. We will be traveling to another RTC on Tuesday, March 18th.

Congratulations to all the WMS wrestlers for winning the county wrestling tournament last weekend. It was a dominant performance.

Middle School Individual County Champions were:

They team was also Westfield Invitational Champions and Western Invitational Champions!
